Music Opportunities

Since the 1860's, God has used Bowling Green Cumberland Presbyterian Church to reach out to those who do not yet know the good news of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Christians can worship the Lord and reach the unsaved through Music and Drama. Our Chancel Choir practices each Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Our Choir takes June and July off each summer. We have a Music Director on staff, to lead our Chancel Choir and other Music Worship groups. If you have a gift for voice, instrument or drama, we encourage and welcome you in our worship porgrams.

Men's Fellowship

The Men of the Bowling Green Cumberland Presbyterian Church meet at 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday of each month. They eat together and enjoy a time of Fellowship to build closer relationships.

Four times a year, these men have a Logan Regional Men's Fellowship meeting where they meet with other C.P. Churches in the area (Presbytery). These churchs take turns hosting the meal. Currently, the C.P. Women's Ministry joins them at these quarterly dinner-meetings.

Women's Fellowship

We have two groups: the Johnie Massey Clay Circle and the Jessee Kelley Circle. The Johnie Massey Clay Circle meets at 11:00 a.m. on the third Monday of each month. The Jessee Kelley Circle meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.

Bible Study, Special Projects (both in the church and in the community) and Fellowship are included. Twice a year these Circles have joint meetings: in February, the Johnie Massey Clay Circle hosts; the Jessee Kelley Circle hosts in August.

M.E.A.L.S.

M.E.A.L.S., which stands for Ministering to Everyone with Action, Love and Support, is an interdenominational, nonprofit organization of churches that provides a noon meal for the needy and homebound on Saturdays. Our church provides funding and volunteers to support this program. Bowling Green Cumberland Presbyterian volunteers deliver meals once every eight weeks.

H.O.T.E.L., INC.

H.O.T.E.L., INC. stands for Helping Others Through Extending Love In the Name of Christ. H.O.T.E.L., INC. consists of Solomon's Cellar, which distributes used clothing and housewares; Manna Mart, which dispenses food and meal plans, and the Burning Bush, which helps families or individuals who have lost their homes due to fire.

In addition, H.O.T.E.L., INC. helps with rent and utility bills. They, in turn, require "Reciprocal Giving" - volunteer hours from the people they help. This takes benevolence from the realm of "handouts." Bowling Green Presbyterian Church actively donates food and funding.

Senior Adults

Our Senior Adult Ministry provides church-related activities addressing the spiritual, educational and social needs of men and women in this age group of life. Retirees, grandparents, those starting second careers, widows, widowers and people caring for adult children make up this important population. They are active in music ministry, day trips, volunteering, veteran support and local service projects. This group comprises the most rapidly growing segment of America.

Mid-Week Programs

We currently offer a mid-week program in the fall and spring semesters called "Meet in the Middle." This program promotes a family atmosphere in which all involved have supper from 5-6 pm. Then the youth and children go to classes while the adults participate in a weekly Bible study.
